Meet Jennifer Graves: Candidate for North Haven Board of Finance

Jenny Graves is a dedicated public servant and experienced leader who is proud to run for the North Haven Board of Finance. With a track record of collaborative decision-making and responsible budgeting, Jenny is ready to bring her expertise to work on behalf of North Haven residents.

Professionally, Jenny serves as Co-Chair of the New Haven Federation of Teachers (NHFT) Finance Committee, where she has led the development and management of the organization’s operating budget for the past two years. Her approach has always centered on making fiscally sound decisions that support both educators and the broader school community.

Jenny’s leadership extends beyond her local work. She serves on several influential committees and boards, giving her a deep understanding of policy, finance, and public education at both the state and national levels. These include:

  • NHFT Committees: Negotiations, Finance, Grievance, and Special Education

  • AFT National & State Roles: AFT National Special Education Cadre and AFT Connecticut PreK-12 Council

  • State of Connecticut Appointments: Connecticut Teacher Preparation and Certification Board and the Connecticut Advisory Council for Teacher Professional Standards

  • Coalition Work: Member of the Connecticut for All Coalition
