Healthcare
Assistance

See if you qualify for HUSKY (Medicaid) services at this link or call Access Health at 1-855-805-4325. Directions on how to apply can be found here.

North Haven partners with BHcare for outpatient counseling services, assistance accessing care, and crisis support, provided through the Community Services Office at 5 Linsley Street. Call 203-239-531 Ext. 8500 to find out more information or to schedule an appointment.

Yale New Haven Health offers financial assistance to those with families earning less than 2.5 the federal poverty level. Fill out an application at. Yale New Haven Hospital Free Care Program Phone: 855-547-4584

The ArrayRx Discount Card allows CT residents to save money on prescriptions, supplies, vaccinations, and other medications at an average of $200 per month. There are no age, income, immigration status, or insurance restrictions. Call 800-913-4146 (M-F 10:30am-8:30pm) or visit arrayrxcard.com to sign up. Purchases made after July 1, 2026 will count towards your deductible.

The APT Foundation, with a clinic in North Haven, provides substance abuse treatment services, including access to housing and vocational services

Anchor Health in Hamden provides healthcare services targeted specifically at the unique needs of the queer community.

The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services is a North Haven-based resource and crisis center helping families displaced by violence in the home. Their toll free number is 1-888-774-2900.
Overdose prevention services including Narcan can be accessed via the Quinnipiack Valley Health District

Energy Assistance

Residents can apply for Energy Assistance with the Town Community Services department. If you heat with gas or electric, or if heat is included in your rent: Call Community Services in January 2026. Eligibility is based on total annual income of household members. To see if you qualify, for further explanation or to schedule your phone appointment, call Community Services at 203-239-2566 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday

United Illuminating (UI) offers a low-income discount rate of 10% or 50% to eligible residential customers. Visit their website to learn more about eligibility or call 211

The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) helps Connecticut residents afford to heat their homes. Visit their website to apply.

Climate & Weather Assistance
In North Haven, the Recreation Center and the Library are used as warming and cooling centers during periods of extreme weather. For Additional resource, call 211.
Housing Assistance
The CT Fair Housing Center provides assistance to those facing eviction, foreclosure, or housing discrimination and ensures that tenants and homebuyers know their rights.
The Municipal Agent for the Elderly at the North Haven Senior Center can help provide assistance for seniors looking to make plans to access affordable housing in town.

Food Assistance
Free and reduced meals are available for qualified students in North Haven Public Schools. Contact your school administrators to see if you qualify.
North Haven Community Services also has a Food Bank. Any questions regarding donations or any residents interested in accessing the food bank, please contact Robert Snurkowski in the Department of Community Services and Recreation Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm at 203-239-5321 x502. More information is available here.
The North Haven Congregational Church accepts and dispenses donations of food items for those in need as well. Donations can be dropped off 9am to 2pm. Pickups can also be arranged by appointment. Find out more on the NHCC's website.
