Holly Gifford

Holly Gifford is a dedicated healthcare professional, community volunteer, and proud North Haven parent running for the Board of Education. With over 20 years of nursing experience and a strong personal connection to our schools, Holly brings both compassion and critical thinking to the table.

Holly and her husband have raised two boys in the North Haven Public School system. One recently graduated and is headed to a prestigious college this fall, while the other is still a student in our schools. She knows firsthand the importance of ensuring that every student has access to a strong education, supportive teachers, and safe, well-equipped learning environments.

Professionally, Holly serves as a Registered Nurse II in Women’s Care at Bridgeport Hospital, where she cares for postpartum patients, newborns, and gynecological surgery patients. She is also a mentor to new nurses and nursing students, a former chair of the Patient and Family Experience Council, and a nominee for the prestigious Daisy Award. Her career has also included roles in pediatric intensive care at Yale New Haven Hospital, pediatric nursing in Savannah, GA, and specialty services at Yale Health. Across all of these roles, Holly has been recognized for her leadership, teaching skills, and commitment to patient safety and education.

Holly’s priorities on the Board of Education are rooted in her nursing values: listen carefully, act with integrity, and put people first. She will advocate for strong academic programs, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support teachers, staff, and administrators in delivering the best possible education for North Haven’s children. She is particularly passionate about fostering open communication between the Board, parents, and the community, believing that collaboration leads to better outcomes for students.
