Peter Criscuolo is a dedicated public servant with over two decades of experience serving on the North Haven Fire Commission. Known for his leadership, creative thinking, and unwavering commitment to public safety, Peter is ready to continue advocating for the resources, training, and equipment our firefighters need to protect the community.

During his 20 plus years as Fire Commissioner, Peter worked closely with the Fire Chief, town officials, and emergency services to ensure the department met and exceeded state and federal safety standards. He played a vital role in reviewing and approving budgets, always prioritizing fiscal responsibility while ensuring critical investments in training, apparatus, and facilities.

Peter’s record of results includes raising over $215,000 for the North Haven Fire Department — funding that directly supported equipment upgrades, enhanced firefighter training, and facility improvements. As Chair of the Fire Department Building Committee, he helped guide key infrastructure projects, ensuring they met the needs of both first responders and the community. He also worked to strengthen fire prevention initiatives and community outreach programs, building awareness and preparedness across town.

Peter is proud to be the only union-endorsed Fire Commissioner in the State of Connecticut, reflecting the strong trust he has earned from the firefighters he serves. His collaborative approach and deep understanding of fire department operations make him a proven advocate for safety, efficiency, and preparedness.

Beyond his Fire Commission work, Peter has been an active leader in local politics, serving as Town Chair of the North Haven Democratic Town Committee. Under his leadership, North Haven elected a Democrat as First Selectman for the first time in 50 years.
