Board of Education

With her blend of classroom experience, community service, and proven leadership, Michele Guglielmo is ready to keep working for North Haven’s students and families on the North Haven Board of Education.

Meet Michele Guglielmo: Candidate for North Haven Board of Education

Michele Guglielmo is a dedicated educator, community advocate, and proud North Haven parent running for a 2 year term on the Board of Education. With nearly two decades of experience in public education and a deep commitment to serving students and families, Michele brings both professional expertise and a personal passion for ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Michele began her career in 2007 as a librarian and tutor in Bridgeport before moving into middle school math instruction in Waterbury and Derby. In 2020, she joined Wallingford Public Schools, where she has taught 8th Grade Math, served as a 1st Grade Virtual Teacher during the pandemic, and currently works as a Math Interventionist for grades 3–5. Her classroom experience spans elementary, middle, and virtual learning, giving her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in education today.

A certified TEAM Mentor for new teachers, Michele actively contributes to her school’s SRBI Team, belongs to her teachers’ union, and has launched innovative programs like an after-school Chess Club — securing a grant to fund materials. She organizes a yearly Family Math Night, participates in Running Club, and has earned multiple Parent Choice Awards for her dedication to students. Michele has also spearheaded and supported numerous school activities, from the 6th Grade Dance to Teacher for a Day events, and has successfully funded multiple classroom projects through Donors Choose.

Appointed to the North Haven Board of Education in April 2024, Michele has already made an impact. She served on the Teacher Negotiations Team, helped navigate a transportation RFP, actively engaged in the budget process, and has been a visible presence at school and community events including graduations, resource fairs, and open houses.

Michele is also an active member of the North Haven Democratic Town Committee and a passionate special education parent and advocate for her two children.

Her priorities as a Board of Education member are clear: support teachers and staff, ensure fiscal responsibility while meeting student needs, advocate for special education, and strengthen connections between schools, families, and the community.

With her blend of classroom experience, community service, and proven leadership, Michele Guglielmo is ready to keep working for North Haven’s students and families.
